Frequently asked questions

  1. Do I need to register my trailer with the DMV?
While we do give you the "pink slip" for your trailer, you will have to register your trailer under you own name with the DMV.
  2. How old are these trailers?
You should never ask a woman how old she is, and some trailers are like a good wine - they get better with age. But typically our trailers range in age between 20-40 years old.
  3. Do I need insurance for my trailer?
The insurance on your tow vehicle should cover your trailer as well, but please double check with your insurance company.
  4. My car doesn't have a hitch. What to do?
Once you purchase your trailer, we will give you a list that has all the details on what size hitch you need to have installed on your car. This will include information on ball and coupler size. We will also include a safety list for towing your new trailer. Don't worry, we remember what it was like to tow our first trailer and we are here to guide you through all the steps!
  5. Do WTV trailers have pink slips/title?
All of our trailers come with title. You will have to register your trailer under your own name with the DMV and pay tax and license fees, typically around 10% of the purchase price. Fees vary depending on the age and cost of the vehicle. As of 2016, a $10,000 trailer registered in Los Angeles will cost you approximately $1000.
